Basic Required Skills (FS 1 and up*):

Strong stroking and crossovers all directions                        

All 3-turns and Mohawks

Spirals forward and backward                                         

Shoot-the-duck forward and if possible backward

Lunges forward and backward                                        

Waltz jump

1 Foot Spin                                                                          

T-Stops right and left

Mid-Range Skills to be Tested:

Double 3-turns all directions                                            

Choctaws

Single twizzles                                                                     

Hydroblade backwards on outside edge

Spread Eagles                                                                    

Bauers

Flying Camel or Layback                                                  

Split Jump

This is a general list of expected skills.  Not all skills will be chosen, but any may be selected for testing.  In addition to the skills above, a series of basic shapes and footwork patterns will be skated to determine skaters’ comfort with group skating and level of ability to memorize quickly.  Remember, posture and extension count!

*Freestyle 1 is the basic expected level of skill.  All skaters should have passed FS1 or have a coach verify they can do the skills adequately.
